This is the most important fiesta in Albacete. It takes place at the fairground, where a multitude of stalls of all kinds (food, drinks, arts and crafts, toys, clothes and so on) stay open all day and long into the night. The programme includes concerts, open-air dances, parades, bullfights, theatre, children's activities... It is held in September and attracts thousands of visitors. The festivity is in honour of the Virgin of Los Llanos, and has been declared of International Tourist Interest. It begins with the announcement of the 'Manchega of honour' (the queen of the fiesta) and the opening parade, consisting of a spectacular array of floats, musical groups and bands featuring local people dressed in the typical costume of La Mancha. Another key event is the floral offering in honour of the patron saint on 8 September. A word of advice: when you're there, try the 'miguelitos' (a delicious local pastry).
