Almería Fortress

Description

It was originally a Moorish palace that can be seen from any spot in the city. If you head to the top of the surrounding wall, there are stunning views. It is now divided into three walled areas. The first now houses several gardens, although originally there were homes and baths. The second was a small city with houses, a mosque and public baths. The third houses the remains of a castle built by the Catholic Monarchs and which today is used as a gallery. The vantage point in the courtyard offers views of the city and a marvellous panorama over the port.
