San Clemente de Taüll Church

Description

It belongs to the series of Romanesque churches in the Vall de Boi valley. Visitors can marvel at the video mapping of some of the original paintings in the church, which gives an idea of how the church of San Clemente de Taüll appeared when it was built. The mural paintings in the sanctuary include the image of the Pantocrator, figures of Saints and Apostles, scenes from the Old and New Testament and others from the Apocalypse. The image of the Pantocrator in this church is very famous and is commonly mentioned as an outstanding example of Catalan Romanesque art. The paintings on display are copies, as the originals are kept in the National Art Museum of Catalonia. The Romanesque sites in the Vall de Boi valley, consisting of eight churches and a shrine, have been declared a part of our World Heritage by the UNESCO.
