Picasso Museum in Malaga

Description

The museum was built because Pablo Picasso wanted his work to be on display in the city where he was born. It offers a survey of the work of the artist over a period of eight decades. The Buenavista Palace, a typical building in the architectural style of the Andalusian civil Renaissance, was chosen as the home for the museum. What will you see? The permanent exhibition has a selection of works donated by his daughter-in-law and grandson. The over 200 works in the collection cover all the different styles, techniques and materials Picasso used. The museum offers temporary exhibitions and cultural and educational activities based on the figure of Picasso. Don't miss The Phoenician and Roman remains to be seen in the ground below the palace, a genuine archaeological site.
