In destinations such as Benicàssim, Peníscola, Oropesa and Torreblanca you'll find beaches with fine sand, and hidden coves with sandy sea floors, as well as secluded hideaways and urban beaches where you can laze in the sun or enjoy watersports. Did you know that Castellón is also the second most mountainous province in Spain? What can you do? You'll find unspoiled coastal regions in the nature reserves of Sierra de Irta and El Prat de Cabones. Don't miss the volcanic islands that are part of the Columbretes Islands nature and marine reserves. Lovers of watersports can enjoy these activities in any of its six marinas. The area also offers a wide range of cultural attractions, and you can see everything from Levantine cave paintings through to the most avant-garde works in the Espai d'Art Contemporani. Music lovers have on the Costa del Azahar one of the most important festivals in the alternative world of pop rock and electronic music: the FIB (Benicàssim International Festival), featuring performances by top national and international artists and bands on numerous different stages.
