What to see A great way to start off your stay is to visit El Cerro de Sopeña, where you can see La Estrella castle. From there, defensive walls once ran around the city and two of its defensive towers still stand today: El Botxí and La Cárcel, along with La Verónica archway. In the city centre, you'll find Plaza Agua Limpia (literally, Clean Water Square), so-named because of the many springs found in the area. It is home to the Town Hall, formerly the Duke of Medinaceli's Palace. During your stay, be sure to visit some of the impressive churches, such as San Pedro, San Martín, San Joaquín and, of course, the Cathedral. The latter comprises the temple, the bell tower, the cloister and the Cathedral Museum, regarded as one of the most important on religious art in the region of Valencia. Nature Segorbe has several green areas, such as Paseo de Sopeña or the beauty spot known as Fuente de los 50 Caños, which is very close to the city. Festivities Between August and September, Segorbe holds its annual festivities, which include different cultural, sporting and religious events as well as fireworks, open-air dances and concerts.
