What to see Tossa del Mar is an authentic open-air museum where you can see examples of is Roman and mediaeval past. Dating from the Roman period is the Roman Villa of Ametllers, which was mainly dedicated to growing vines; several monuments have been preserved from the mediaeval period such as Can Magí Tower or Los Moros Tower, the Chapel of Virgen del Socorro, the fortified country house known as Antic Mas Rabassa and the walled enclosure of the Vila Vella or old town. The Municipal Museum houses some archaeological pieces from Ametllers and a major art collection that reflects the time when Tossa de Mar became a top destination for artists and intellectuals. We recommend strolling around the walled enclosure and heading up Tossa Lighthouse that offers spectacular views over the coast. Also make sure to visit the fisher folk neighbourhood known as Sa Roqueta. Beaches and nature You will have the chance to enjoy immensely beautiful areas including coves, cliffs, vantage points and warm sandy beaches with crystal clear waters. Do not miss the chance to visit the nature area of Macizo de Cadirete, a mountain region separating the sea from the plain.
