Cervantes House-Museum

Valladolid

The Exemplary Novels and Cervantes

A two-storey building that recreates the atmosphere lived by this famous Golden Age writer.

The Museum is located in the property where the author lived during his stay in Valladolid, between 1604 and 1606. This stay coincided with the publication of the first edition of Don Quixote in 1605. In addition, Cervantes wrote some of the ‘Exemplary Novels’ series here. The house has undergone some changes over time, both outside and inside, due to the different maintenance work required. Nonetheless, the structure as well as the interior layout have remained intact. As well as rooms decorated with typical furniture, the garden can also be visited.
