Fundació Miró Mallorca

Mallorca

A lesser-known side of Miró

In 1956 Joan Miró took up residence on the island of Mallorca, where he would be intensely productive until his death in 1983.

The core of the collection is the large body of work donated by the artist himself, created in his four workshops in Mallorca. Most of the pieces in the collection are paintings, drawings, and prints. It also has an important document collection, and several of Miró’s sculptures can be admired in the gardens. The Foundation building was designed by the Spanish architect Rafael Moneo.
