Palace of Los Golfines de Arriba

Cáceres

Also known by the name of Casa de los Golfines de Arriba house, its construction dates from the 15th century. The palace is square and has towers on the corners, of which three still survive. The keep dates from the 16th century and stands in the centre of the palace. On the façade are the family coats-of-arms of the Golfines, and beneath, those of the Cerda y Golfines, fruit of the marriage between Isabel de la Cerda and García de Golfín who founded the palace. On the inside there are several interesting rooms and various courtyards. It is today a hotel complex.
