Courses by great designers
Many of the best golf course architects are responsible for the design of the courses you can play on in Spain. For example, the courses at the Club de Golf Valderrama and Real Club Sotogrande (both on the Costa de la Luz) are the work of Robert Trent Jones. Cabell Robinson designed the Finca El Cortesín Golf Club (in Costa del Sol) and La Reserva de Sotogrande (Costa de la Luz). Former golfer Neil Coles is behind the PGA Catalunya Resort (Girona), and Javier Arana has worked on the El Saler Golf Course (region of Valencia) and Aloha Golf (Marbella). In Cantabria, you can even play in the Real Golf de Pedreña, where Spanish champion Severiano Ballesteros assisted in the design.
