Casa Batlló

Casa Batlló house is one of the finest buildings by the architect Antonio Gaudí and one of the most popular tourist sites in Barcelona. Gaudí carried out a series of reforms and improvements which at all times preserved the building's original structure. You'll be surprised at the extreme design of the modernist façade, and invitation to explore the building's interior. Its fantastic details, colours and shapes recall the marine world. Once inside you can tour the Casa Batlló and visit its main floor, the former residence of the Batlló family, the attic, the lightwell and the flat roof with its distinctive chimneys. On this last floor you can see the famous backbone of the dragon vanquished by Saint George in the popular legend. The Casa Batlló has been declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.
