Palau de la Música Catalana Auditorium

Description

One of the best examples of modernism in Catalonia and a meeting spot for social and cultural activity in the city. It is one of the world's major concert halls so, if you get the chance, make sure you attend a performance there. It is the work of renowned architect Lluis Domènech i Montaner. The Concert Hall has hosted world premieres. The hall is filled with statues and nature-based features, all presided over by the organ. There are also two further halls: the ‘Petit Palau' or small palace and the Orfeó Català Choir Rehearsal Room. The latter hosts smaller concerts, conferences and presentations. The Petit Palau Hall was opened in 2004 and hosts chamber concerts. The Lluís Millet room, surrounded by large windows, is a meeting and rest spot. It has been declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.
