Greek ruins of Empuries

These ruins are the most important Greek archaeological complex in Spain. With over 2,500 years of history, surrounded by beaches and coves, it is the ideal spot to understand Greek and Roman urban development. Its origins date from the time of the Greek settlers in the 5th century B.C. Later, the city was renovated by the Romans in the 1st century. In this way, the remains of a Greek city sit alongside those from a Roman city. Once there, you can visit the complex of walls, columns, streets and houses providing you with an idea of how life was lived years ago. In addition, you have the chance to see mosaics, marble, bronzes and some Greek sculptures.
