Campanet caves

These caves have a curious origin: they were discovered during an exploration prospecting for water in the area. The findings included the remains of an animal that had become extinct 4,000 years earlier. The Campanet caves are a genuine paradise in the interior of the mountains of Majorca. Their grottoes have served as an inspiration for painters and poets, and have also been used as film sets. What can you see on your visit? Caverns formed by the erosion of underground water and a rich and spectacular crystalline decoration with stalactites, columns and stalagmites. The cave is formed by several chambers that are known by names such as the Romantic Chamber, the Lake Chamber or the Castle Chamber. In some of them you can also see small accumulations of water that have formed over the years.
