Seville Cathedral

Seville Cathedral is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world in terms of surface area. Make sure not to miss the 500 highly valuable works inside, with paintings by renowned painters such as Murillo, Zurbarán and Goya. In addition, the remains of Christopher Columbus lie in the cathedral, protected under a large monument. The Chancel is located in the heart of the cathedral. Royal weddings have been held here, such as that for Princess Elena, daughter of the Spanish king and queen. The Orange Tree Courtyard is located in the cloister, the oldest part of the cathedral. This 16th-century construction built over the 12th-century Great Mosque comprises arches, large doors, towers and large windows. The Abluciones Courtyard, today's Puerta del Perdón door and the minaret known as the Giralda are preserved parts of the old mosque.
