Description

You'll be able to learn about the adventures of the Spanish navy, naval construction, mapmaking, the history of maritime voyages and the voyages of discovery. It traces Spain's naval history and offers a panoramic view of other countries' navies, and is one of the most comprehensive museums of its kind on the subject in Spain. What will you see? You'll be able to follow two itineraries on your visit: a chronological journey through the history of the Spanish navy from the time of the Catholic Monarchs through to the present day, and another itinerary through rooms based on particular topics. It contains exhibitions of documents, maps, archives, paintings and other highly valuable objects. Don't miss Some key pieces such as the flag of the army of King Joseph Bonaparte I, a model of a Flemish galleon and the universal map of Juan de la Cosa.
