Horta Maze

Are you ready to take on the challenge of the maze? If so, you'll find yourself following the different routes through the cypresses with only your sense of orientation as your guide. If you make it to the centre don't be alarmed, because you won't find the Minotaur, only a sculpture of Eros. What will you see? This is one of the oldest gardens still remaining in the city, a mixture of romantic and neo-classical elements that transform it into a garden-museum. You can stroll among columned temples, fountains and natural springs, mythological sculptures, wild plants, yews, pines, plane trees, linden trees and a neo-classical pavilion. Apart from the vegetation, water plays a central role with the fountain in the maze, a romantic canal, a waterfall and a stream. On your visit you can also see the peasant's refuge carved out of the rock, the hermit's cabin and a false cemetery containing particularly 'the flower of love'.
