Pedralbes Palace gardens

Description

Hidden behind a 250 metre-long wall covered in bougainvillea lies an elegant garden criss-crossed by many paths. A stroll along the paths allows you admire the full beauty of the gardens and the rich variety of plants. What will you see? The Park boasts a myriad of species, cedar being one of the most abundant, including 23 spectacular Himalayan cedars. There is also a hundred-year old stone pine, varieties of cypress, linden, laurel and eucalyptus as well as a grove of bamboo. The latter is home to one of two works of art by Gaudí that are in the park: La Fuente de Hércules (Hercules' Fountain). Built from stone and wrought iron, water spouts from the head of a dragon. The other work by Gaudí is a parabolic pergola covered by climbing plants. At the far end of the Park stands Pedralbes Royal Palace.
