Cáceres

Brozas has a magnificent fortress, as well as interesting noble buildings. In the municipality we find a famous spa.

Here is a list of some of the most interesting civil buildings: the palace-house of Argüellos; the one of the Marquis of Reino, which is Baroque, yet built in a Renaissance style; the palace of Flores Montenegro, built in the 16th century; and the house of Porres-Montemayor, with whitewashed walls. As for religious buildings, we must mention the church of Santa María la Mayor, built in Gothic and Renaissance styles, with ashlar stone; the church of Santos Mártires, built between the 16th and 17th centuries, and left unfinished until the 1960s; the hermitages of Buen Jesús, Humilladero and San Juan; and the convents of Comendadoras de Alcántara (Alcántara Commanders), and Nuestra Señora de la Luz, the latter being significant because of its huge size. In the municipality of Brozas we find a Spa, right in the midst of the Extremaduran pastureland, surrounded by pools where migratory birds thrive. It is equipped with modern facilities, both in its spas and accommodations. Let us not forget the reservoir, an enclosure where the visitor can go fishing, specially tench.
