What to see There are different types of beaches on offer here: sandy (Gran de Palamós, Fosca or Castell), rocky (Cala Margarida or Cala S'Alguer) and mixed (Cala Estreta). Palamós coastal path will charm you on a stroll through pine groves running to the sea. Castell beach is also home to archaeological remains whilst La Fosca has the mediaeval castle of Sant Esteve. A walk around the old town offers monuments such as the churches of Santa Eugenia de Villarromá and Santa María del Mar. Active tourism Palamós is home to two yacht clubs: Costa Brava and Marina de Palamós. Here, you can moor your vessel, do some water sports or enjoy some food and drink in a restaurant with great views. Gastronomy Head to the Fishing Museum and the fishing harbour to get an idea of how important the industry is for the region. Make sure to order the famous Palamós prawns at a restaurant. Trips You can also discover other famous spots on the Costa Brava from Palamós such as L'Estartit (offering trips to the Medes Islands), Pals and Playa d'Aro. Palamós enjoy such as privileged location that it is a stop for cruise ships.
