What to see The spectacular coastline is its star attraction, which includes Aguadulce, El Parador, Las Marinas and Las Salinas. At the Aguadulce marina, you'll find a long beach and a fabulous ambience, especially in the summer and at weekends. Roquetas port is a great place to soak up some seafaring tradition or spend a relaxing day at La Romanilla beach. Nearby are some of the area's most emblematic buildings, such as Santa Ana castle and the Lighthouse. Other beaches worth visiting include La Bajadilla, La Ventilla, Los Bajos, Las Salinas and Playaserena. Endless beaches of fine, white sand. Active tourism Aguadulce marina is a great place for water sports. Also, the coast around Roquetas de Mar encompasses the Punta Entinas Sabinal Nature Area, which includes the beach known as Cerrillos. The area is a paradise for scuba diving. It boasts underwater meadows of Posidonia. Gastronomy We highly recommend combining traditional seafood-based cuisine with the superb fresh produce grown locally in Almería. Be sure to try some “pescaíto frito” (small fried fish), “gurullos” with lobster (pasta served with seafood, tomatoes, peppers, onion and garlic) and “zarzuela” (a combination of fish and seafood).
