What to see
Although Torremolinos is famous for being an ideal choice for a holiday in the sun, it's well worth visiting the old town centre, where you'll find traces of its Phoenician, Greek and Roman past. Torremolinos was once called Torres de Pimentel. Indeed, La Torre del Pimentel, or La Torre de los Molinos, is still one of the town's main monuments.
Beaches
In Torremolinos you'll find no end of great ways to enjoy a fantastic holiday at any time of the year: from swimming in the warm Mediterranean to enjoying all kinds of water sports. Its superb beaches include El Bajandillo and La Carihuela, two of the most popular; Playamar, where you can enjoy a snack or meal at one the many seafront restaurantes or “chiringuitos” (beach bars); and Los Álamos, one of the furthest from the town centre.
Nightlife
Torremolinos has incredible nightlife and you're sure to find lots of partying and fun every day of the week.
Festivities
The many fiestas, fairs and processions are a major part of local life. We especially recommend the festivities held in honour of the town's patron saint, San Miguel (Saint Michael) in late September and early October.
