Yaiza stands out from other towns in the area thanks to it being one of the best preserved and having won different beauty prizes. Nature The main attraction is the National Park of Timanfaya that covers an immense solidified sea of lava alongside caves, volcanic cones and up to 25 craters. Once inside the park, you will discover different interesting spots such as the Islote de Hilario. From here you can take a bus and travel the well-known Volcanoes Route with its lava and ash landscapes. In turn, the Timanfaya National Park is surrounded by Los Volcanes Nature Reserve. Los Hervideros, large cliffs where the waves break against the shore can be viewed near the coast. Nearby you will spot El Golfo, a coastal crater housing the Laguna Verde, a small lake declared a Nature Reserve. Beaches and active tourism It is home to some of the island’s most spectacular beaches, such as the empty sands and crystal clear waters on Playa Quemada, or the white sandy coves of Papagayo. There is a wide selection of fun leisure activities on offer in the tourist spots of Playa Blanca and Puerto Calero.
