Ciudad Encantada

In this nature area you'll see rocks with curious and original forms that resemble humans, objects and even animals –all you have to do is give free rein to your imagination. Located on a canyon almost 1500 metres high, it lies within the Serranía de Cuenca nature reserve. As you walk around a 2.5 kilometres circuit you'll see the curious rocky formations that have been created over the centuries by the action of water, wind and ice. Don't worry if you can't quite make out what the rock is supposed to represent, because many of them have signs with their name: Boats, the Dog, the Stone Sea, the Seal, the Slide… What's more, Ciudad Encantada ('the Enchanted City') has attractive landscapes with lush vegetation formed by gall oaks, savine and common juniper, and blackberry bushes. The whole setting will envelop you in its pleasant aroma of rosemary and thyme.
