Description

City of Arts and Sciences

Have you ever wanted to see inside the mouth of a shark, become an astronaut and explore planets and galaxies or walk among penguins? At the City of Arts and Sciences you can do all this and much more. Immerse yourself in the world of science, nature and art in one of the largest scientific and cultural complexes in Europe. It consists of six different buildings. The Hemisfèric, in the shape of the human eye, offers the chance to enjoy innovative films screened in a planetarium, an IMAX cinema and a Laserium. The Oceanogràfic is the largest marine centre in Europe, containing 45,000 specimens of 500 different species, and where you can see dolphin exhibitions, go deep into tropical forests, or find yourself surrounded by sharks. The Umbracle contains a green area and an observation deck, and the Palau de les Arts auditorium is the venue for world-class theatre, opera and dance productions. And if you want to learn more about the evolution of life, don't miss the interactive Science Museum.
