As Mariñas Coruñesas e Terras do Mandeo Biosphere Reserve

Description

The visit to this Biosphere Reserve is an opportunity to explore the basins of the Mero and Mandeo rivers, in a natural setting that combines riverbank forests and wetlands all the way down to the sea. Bring along your camera so you can photograph marshes, cliffs, small islands, streams, forests, reservoirs… A homage to the nature of Galicia. What animals can you find there? You'll see a wide variety of birds, as well as listed species such as the loggerhead sea turtle and the common dolphin. And of course, on your trip you're bound to encounter more than one example of the local cattle breeds such as the Galician cow. What's on offer in the Biosphere Reserve? You can take hiking routes and sign up for sea and river cruises. What's more, two of the variations of the way of Saint James pass by here: the English route and the North route. You'll also find monuments like the Pazo de Mariñán mansion, and areas that are perfect for sampling the local produce such as honey, wine, shellfish…
