Biosphere Reserve of the Omaña and Luna valleys

Description

Imagine the following scenario: the Luna and Omaña rivers flowing through valleys and gorges, mountains soaring over 2,000 metres in height, archaeological remains and peaceful reservoirs. What animals can you find there? This place is home to various species in danger of extinction such as the brown bear and the capercaillie, and to species typical of the Cordillera Cantábrica mountains like the broom hare. What's on offer in the Biosphere Reserve? Choose between several hiking routes, and discover U-shaped glacial valleys, or take a tour around old gold-mining areas dating from Roman times. What's more, you can swim, sail and do watersports in the Barrios de Luna reservoir.
