There are important prehistoric shelters in Alpera where schematic human figures appear, invariably depicted in monochrome, as well as numerous scenes of hunting, dancing, fighting, harvesting, etc. It has been declared a World Heritage Site within the Rock Art of the Mediterranean Basin.
